Pinatubo Crater Lake Pinatubo is the summit crater lake of Mount Pinatubo formed after its climactic eruption on June 15, 1991. Somehow I felt that we were transported to New Zealand since the landscape in the Pinatubo area is so vastly different from the normal tropical scenery. One more thing checked off the bucket list! Lake Pinatubo is the summit crater lake of Mount Pinatubo formed after its climactic eruption on June 15, 1991.
